The Role
We are a leading life sciences company specialising in the analysis of metals and commodities. With a strong reputation for quality and innovation, we support a wide range of industries through accurate testing and expert analysis.
We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our laboratory team as a Balance Operator.
This is an entry-level, hands‑on role within our laboratory, focusing on precise weighing and preparation of samples for further analysis. No previous laboratory experience is required, as full training will be provided.
You’ll be working in a fast‑paced environment where accuracy, safety and teamwork are essential.
About The Position
- Shift: 6am-2pm and 1:30pm-9:30pm rotational shift
- Contract: Full-time, permanent position
- Salary: Competitive, with opportunities for progression
The day to day
- Preparing and handling samples through careful mixing, blending, and dipping techniques
- Operating high‑precision analytical balances and moisture analysis equipment
- Interpreting moisture results to support accurate laboratory reporting
- Replenishing materials and ensuring smooth workflow across the team
- Organising, storing, and distributing samples with accuracy and care
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment in line with company standards
The Essentials
- A positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn
- Great organisational skills and a methodical approach to tasks
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused
- Confidence with basic maths and English (GCSE level or equivalent)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus
