The Role
ALS Laboratories in Ely are looking for their next ambitious Analyst. In this role, you will be a proactive member of the team, able to work with initiative and being highly efficient, testing a wide range of samples from manufacturing samples through to finished products undergoing testing for release to market. You will work closely with both other team members and senior staff to ensure that samples received are processed in a timely manner to meet operational and client requirements and necessary regulatory standards.

Days Per Week: Monday to Friday
Contract: Full Time & Permanent
Annual Salary: £27,668.35 plus £1000 GMP allowance
The day to day
- To perform chemical analysis allocated without deviation from the documented methodology and / or procedure whilst maintaining high levels of quality control
- To perform analysis within the timescales required and ensure that result availability is in line with method and client expectations
- To perform Instrument maintenance and troubleshooting as required
- To inform the laboratory management team of any problems or doubts concerning the ability to perform allocated tests
- To perform daily quality control checks and calibrations as required
- To conform with all site Quality Management systems and Health and Safety procedures and protocols
The Essentials
- Degree or equivalent in Chemistry or an appropriate subject, or proven experience in relevant analytical techniques
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of chemical analysis across a range of methodologies, techniques, and procedures e.g., HPLC, GC, AA etc.
- Good communication skills, written and oral, with good organisational skills and the ability to accurately follow methods and excellent attention to detail
- 2-3 years’ experience within a GMP chemistry laboratory is desirable.
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to work on own initiative
