You have built strong HR foundations. You handle complexity calmly. People trust your judgement. You are often the steady presence in the room. Now you want a role where both your capability and your character matter. I am working on a confidential HR Manager opportunity within a growing Lloyds' Broker in the London Market that is building out additional classes of business aligned to its niche, with potential jurisdictional expansion ahead. Growth is strategic and deliberate. Senior hires are being made. New areas are being developed. Headcount is 125 and rising. The board and investors are closely engaged in the next phase. But despite that growth, the culture remains close-knit and people-focused. But expectations are high. This is a business that moves at pace, values professionalism and needs HR to be commercially aligned as it scales.
The HR Director is looking for someone to work alongside her who can bring new energy, fresh thinking and a genuinely human approach to the function. Not overly corporate. Not process for process’ sake. Someone real. Someone approachable. Available. Trusted. It would be a great move for someone who is ready for the next step in their career. This role sits between the HR Director and the wider (small team). You would guide, mentor and support, while also taking ownership of key areas of the function.
You would:
- Lead on compensation and benefits, including negotiating contracts and shaping structures
- Support recruitment of senior, specialist hires
- Provide calm, credible advisory support on more complex employee matters
- Mentor and develop a capable but growing HR team
- Act as the visible, trusted face of HR when the HR Director is not available
- Bring fresh thinking and more efficient ways of working as the business scales
Also, someone with international, M&A or Tupe experience would be a big plus. Just as important as experience is how you show up. The HR Director is looking for someone human and approachable. Someone people feel comfortable approaching. Someone collaborative rather than directive. Someone who can handle sensitive situations with softness and judgement. You should be confident enough to take ownership, but secure enough to use the HR Director as a sounding board when needed. CIPD Level 5 or above is essential. A strong generalist background is preferred. Insurance experience in a similar size business would be great and experience within a growing or evolving business would be highly relevant.
In return, you gain:
- Exposure to board and investor-led growth strategy
- The opportunity to shape people structures during expansion
- Hybrid working – minimum 3 days in the office, 2 from home
- 25 days holiday increasing to 30, plus buy and sell options
- Additional flex days
- 10% employer pension contribution
- Private medical, health cash plan and income protection
- Enhanced family leave and wellbeing support
Salary is around £80,000 (there is some flexibility so get in touch if you are already earning similar). There is urgency, but no appetite to compromise on personality or fit… it is crucial to find the right person. If you are ready to step into a visible role where you can bring both credibility and humanity to a growing business, please get in touch. If you would like a conversation before applying that is okay too just drop me a message and I will reply.
