Role: Pricing Specialist – Ocean Freight
Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Salary: From 32k + bonuses
Work Pattern: Office Based, Mon – Fri 08:00am – 16:00pm / 09:00am – 17:00pm
We are working with one of the largest privately owned international freight forwarding companies with multiple office across the country, who are actively on the lookout out for a Pricing Specialist specialising in Ocean Freight.
This company has been established for over 35+ years and are continuing to grow in the industry.
Duties:
- Negotiate rates with carriers / hauliers / suppliers
- Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed timeframe
- Work within our in-house system to create and issue quotations
- Communicate with customers to manage and follow up all quotes
- Adjusting pricing where possible to ensure we secure opportunities.
- Develop and build relationships and provide the highest level of customer service to all customers
Skills:
- Strong analytical thinking skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills
- Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
- Strong numerical and commercial skills
- Industry and operational knowledge of Ocean freight – inbound, outbound, and cross trade
