Experience: 1–2 Years Minimum (Ocean Import Essential)

We are looking for an Ocean Import Coordinator who wants to step away from departmental silos and take full control. In this role, you aren’t just processing a single stage of an import—you are the lead architect of the shipment from the initial pre-alert through to the final UK delivery. If you thrive on the technicalities of deep-sea freight and want a role with true autonomy in Manchester's busy logistics hub, this is for you.

The Day-to-Day:

  • End-to-End Imports: Manage the full A–Z lifecycle of LCL and FCL movements from global origins (Asia, USA, etc.) into the UK.
  • Vessel & Port Control: Monitor vessel arrivals, manage container releases, and coordinate with shipping lines to ensure zero delays.
  • Customs Mastery: Execute precise import entries via CDS, manage duty/VAT calculations, and handle deferment accounts with 100% accuracy.
  • The Last Mile: Partner with UK hauliers and de-van warehouses to ensure containers are moved and delivered to the client’s door on time.
  • Client Relationship: Be the dedicated go-to for your accounts—handling quotes, providing real-time tracking, and offering proactive logistics solutions.
  • Financial Polish: Own your file's P&L—accurate cost accruals, margin management, and prompt sales invoicing.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven Track Record: At least 1–2 years of current experience in a Sea Freight Forwarding import environment.
  • Technical DNA: A rock-solid understanding of Incoterms, Bills of Lading, and UK Customs (CDS) procedures.
  • Pace & Precision: The ability to manage multiple high-volume shipments simultaneously without losing sight of the details.
  • Professional Discretion: We know the Manchester freight community is tight-knit. Every application is handled with the highest level of care and 100% confidentiality.

Why Make the Move?

  • Total Ownership: No departmental hand-offs. You manage the full lifecycle of every job.
  • Manchester Hub: Work at the heart of the North’s premier logistics network with a supportive, expert team.
  • Growth: Join a business that values your industry expertise and offers a clear path for professional advancement.
