Our client is a leading global freight forwarder seeking a driven, detail-oriented professional to join their busy international logistics team in Manchester. In this role, you will take full ownership of European and domestic road freight shipments from booking right through to final delivery, ensuring absolute compliance and world-class customer service along the way.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • End-to-End Coordination: Manage the daily execution of overland transport files (groupage, part-load, and full-load / FTL & LTL) from initial booking to final delivery.
  • Documentation & Customs: Prepare and process crucial transport documentation, including CMRs, transit documents (T1/T2), and customs declarations for cross-border movements.
  • Carrier & Haulier Liaison: Source vehicle capacity, negotiate spot rates with domestic and international hauliers, and track driver progress.
  • Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, providing real-time tracking updates, proactive problem-solving, and resolving transit delays smoothly.
  • Financial Integrity: Complete job costing, ensure all accurate billing and driver payables are processed, and maximize file profitability.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: Proven experience working in Road Freight Operations (European trailer movements or domestic distribution) within a freight forwarding environment is essential.
  • Technical Knowledge: A strong grasp of road transport documentation, driver hours/regulations where applicable, Incoterms, and post-Brexit customs procedures.
  • System Savvy: Experience using freight management or transport management software (e.g., CargoWise One, EDI Enterprise, or similar) is highly desirable.
  • Mindset: An analytical problem-solver who thrives under pressure in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to effectively manage relationships with hauliers, internal teams, and European partners.
