Job Specification: Ocean Import Operator – Ocean Freight
Location: Ipswich | Full-time | Hybrid Working
Role Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Import Coordinator in freight forwarding, specialising in Ocean imports. You’ll handle UK import shipments from start to finish and provide top-tier customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing end-to-end import sea freight shipments
- Liaising with overseas agents, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely cargo dispatch
- Accurately managing shipments using CargoWise
- Ensuring timely receipt and processing of documents and customs clearance information
- Planning and organising final delivery in line with client needs
- Proactively track and trace shipments, addressing any delays or issues.
- Ensuring client SOPs are consistently followed
- Issuing accurate invoicing and job costing
- Building strong relationships with clients to maximise long‑term business opportunities
