About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Road Freight Operator with time-critical experience to join our industry leading client in Redditch. This role involves handling predominantly Road freight operations from start to finish. Experience of Air freight would be a bonus. The ideal candidate will ensure all shipments comply with UK and international customs regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process import and export operations for Road and Air freight.
  • Quoting and Pricing, ensuring best rates are secured.
  • Dealing with time-critical shipments.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and customs requirements.
  • Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and government agencies.
  • Manage customs documentation and duty/VAT calculations.
  • Stay up to date with CNS, Destin8, Cargowise, CDS, CHIEF, and industry regulations.
  • Provide customer updates and resolve customs-related queries.

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Freight Forwarder in freight forwarding or logistics.
  • Proven experience in handling time-critical shipments.
  • Strong knowledge of Road and Air freight.
  • Proficiency with customs systems (e.g., CDS, CHIEF, Destin8, Sequoia).
  • Understanding of commodity codes, duties, VAT, and trade agreements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
