We are looking for a skilled Machine Builder / Fitter to join our team. Work includes assembling our slitting machines in the factory and completing tests prior to shipping. Some UK servicing and occasional overseas visits.

Key role and responsibilities for Machine Builder / Fitter:

  • Fitting and assembling various machine unit assemblies (e.g., Spindles, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Lubrication systems)
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical assembly drawings, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Installing hydraulic, lubrication, and pneumatic systems
  • Performing onsite installations, upgrades, and repairs at customers' premises, both in the UK and worldwide
  • Operating machine shop equipment such as drills, grinder equipment etc.
  • Communicating issues and solutions to the build and engineering teams
  • Inspecting parts using precision measuring tools
  • Participating in upfront project planning meetings and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Checking and preparing spare parts

Role requirements for Machine Builder / Fitter:

  • Mechanical fitting experience
  • Forklift truck license is an advantage – if not, training will be provided for occasional use on site
  • Valid UK Driving licence and Passport for occasional international travel
  • Electrical knowledge an advantage
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Problem-solving skills

We are a small but successful company looking for a self-motivated, hard working individual that can work independently and as a key part of our team. Mechanical assembly of machine parts to include Bearings, seals, pulleys, belts, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Ball screws, linear rails, servo motors etc.

  • £25,000 - £35,000 depending on experience
