We are looking for a Sub‑Sampling Technician in the Logistics department in Coventry, West Midlands. As a Sub‑Sampling Technician you will be completing a range of tasks to enable the effective and efficient delivery of sample aliquots to the laboratory for analysis.

Working Hours and Contract

  • Days Per Week: Saturday and Sunday (08:00 - 16:00)
  • Contract: Part Time and Permanent
  • Hours Per Week: 15
  • Annual Salary: £10,491.08

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the samples are sub‑sampled as soon as possible after receipt from sample registration to comply with sample stability times.
  • Ensure all aliquots delivered to the lab are homogeneous.
  • Achieve the hourly average subsampling target.
  • Comply with the requirements of ISO 17025 and the Company quality management system.
  • Sort samples into stability order for distribution to the laboratory.
  • Check and respond to emails throughout the day.
  • Carry out filtration of wastewater samples.
  • Rotate sample crate in and out of the cold room.

Essentials

  • 3 GCSEs at Grade C (equivalent to new Grade 4) or above, including Science, Maths and English.
  • IT skills including knowledge of Excel, Outlook and the ability to use in‑house software after training.
  • Ability to learn to use new software.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Must be able to work accurately.
  • Good communication skills.
