This role is for a Senior Developer based in the UK, with a focus on enhancing and supporting our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and related internal platforms.
Flexible working arrangements and hybrid options are available.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems using C# / . NET technologies.
- Provide 3rd line support for identifying and resolving bugs in the production environment.
- Enhance existing modules within our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Work with MS SQL Server for database design, query optimisation, and performance improvements.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
- Participate in solution design, code reviews, and promote best practices within the team.
- Collaborate with business analysts, system specialists, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in software development.
- Strong proficiency in C# and . NET (Core or newer), with knowledge of object-oriented principles.
- Solid experience with MS SQL Server, including stored procedures and performance tuning.
- Experience with VB. NET, with a view to update and migrate applications to C#.
- Previous work with LIMS or similar data-driven business systems.
- Familiarity with Entity Framework Core, asynchronous programming, and API design.
- Hands-on experience with version control systems (e. g., Git) and Agile methodologies.
- A logical, analytical approach and a commitment to writing maintainable, high-quality code.
Bonus experience
Experience with SSRS; modern front-end frameworks (Blazor, React, or Angular); knowledge of Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes; exposure to Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines, or automated testing frameworks.
