We have an exciting opportunity for a reliable individual to work as a van driver based at our Chandlers Ford site, responsible for collecting samples from customer sites and ALS drop‑off locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a medium wheeled van safely and courteously; serve as a brand ambassador.
- Maintain the vehicle’s refrigeration unit at the required temperature at all times.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients and staff at ALS sites.
- Show flexibility on collection runs to accommodate additional requests and traffic delays.
- Accurately complete paperwork, recording van temperatures and sample consignments.
- Perform daily checks and basic maintenance, including fluid top‑ups and cleaning of the vehicle.
- Inform the Transport Manager of client issues or other pertinent information.
- Ensure adherence to the rules of the road and demonstrate excellent driver behaviour standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience driving medium wheel‑base vans.
- Good working knowledge of UK road networks.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, reliably, self‑motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and friendly.
- Capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Initiative and ability to act on information given.
- Provide own navigation system, or willingness to obtain one if not available.
- Valid, up‑to‑date driving licence and clean driving record.
