Analyst - Grade 1 - Organics ALS Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Analyst Grade 1 to join the Organics department at our Coventry laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a busy and supportive team, playing a key role in the testing of samples to ensure accurate, reliable results are delivered in line with company procedures and performance targets. We are looking for someone with a careful, methodical approach, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work proactively as part of a fast-paced laboratory environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for following established procedures, carrying out sample testing effectively and accurately, and recording results to a high standard. This role is an excellent entry point for anyone looking to start a career in Environmental Science, particularly within the field of organic analysis. Day to Day Responsibilities
- Understand customer requirements.
- Ensure samples are completed efficiently and effectively following all process, procedures, and legislation.
- Deliver on key performance indicators.
- Report and understand analytical data.
- Participate in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis following screening.
- Assist team members to achieve work objectives.
- Proactively ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures
Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs at Grade C (equivalent to new Grade 4) or above to include Science, Maths and English and an A level or equivalent in scientific subject.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures, with a willingness to learn.
- Client focused approach with a solution oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to plan and organise own work area.
