ALS Laboratories are looking for a Laboratory Analyst Grade 1 to support their Inorganics department at ALS Coventry.
Laboratory Analysts require a good mix of skills. The person will be responsible for ensuring procedures are followed to effectively and accurately test samples, and record results in line with company targets. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a meticulous and methodical approach to tasks. This role would be a great starting point for somebody looking to begin their career in Environmental Sciences!

- Days Per Week: Tuesday to Saturday (14:00 - 22:00)

The Day to Day
- Understand customer requirements.
- Ensure samples are completed efficiently and effectively following all process, procedures, and legislation.
- Deliver on key performance indicators.
- Report and understand analytical data.
- Participate in the Taste and Odour panel on a rotational basis following screening.
- Assist team members to achieve work objectives.
- Proactively ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
The Essentials
- Qualifications required are a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C (equivalent to the new Grade 4) or above, which must include Chemistry (essential), as well as Mathematics and English.
- Applicants must also hold an A level, or equivalent qualification, in Chemistry or a closely related scientific subject, with a strong emphasis on chemical principles and laboratory practice.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures, with a willingness to learn.
- Client focused approach with a solution oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to plan and organise own work area.
