Overview
We’re looking for a strong, commercially aware Lab Leader to take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership, performance, and development of one of our North region dental laboratories. The role is about ownership—leading people, controlling standards, driving performance, and ensuring the lab operates efficiently, profitably, and with pride.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the daily operational performance of the laboratory
- Managing and developing technicians, supervisors, and support staff
- Driving a "Right First Time" culture across quality, service, and turnaround
- Ensuring productivity, labour efficiency, and workflow are aligned to demand
- Maintaining high standards of compliance, QC, and health & safety
- Working closely with Operations and senior leadership on performance targets
- Supporting recruitment, training, progression, and succession planning
- Acting as the key point of leadership and accountability within the lab
Qualifications & Experience
- Experienced lab leader, senior technician, or production manager ready for full accountability
- Strong people management skills, ability to create structure and make decisions
- Commercially aware with understanding of productivity, cost, and service
- Calm, consistent, and fair—able to hold standards without creating noise
- Organised, decisive, and comfortable owning outcomes
- Passionate about quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Dental laboratory experience is essential
