Manufacturing Location: Golborne (WA3)

Shift Basis: 12 Hours Rotating Shifts Including Days & Nights

At our Golborne site (5 mins from the J22 or J23 M6) based on the East Lancs Road, we employ over 270 colleagues who produce a number of packaging solutions on a 24/7 basis for major international customers.

As a Quality Inspector you will:

  • Work as part of the Quality department in a shift-based role to support delivery of Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across the site which operates 24/7.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend the shift handover meetings communicating the current situation and status of current open non-conformance (fault notes & isolations) which they have been involved in during the shift.
  • Conduct CCP verification checks.
  • Supply and verify the correct defect test pieces to production lines and ensure they are collected back at the end of a production run.
  • Confirm the appropriate specifications and documentation is in place and being completed correctly.
  • Accurately record data in the electronic quality databases system (CAQ) - Where failings are identified escalate to Management for investigation before the end of the shift.
  • Conduct laboratory based analytical testing, as required to support material or colour changes during evenings.
  • Carry out diligently those duties as requested by the management in accordance with good Health and Safety and quality and food safety practices.
  • Ensure that laboratory and Quality station housekeeping is of the highest standard at all times.
  • Perform any other duties in connection with the job that may, from time to time be reasonably required and which are consistent with the 'Main Purpose of the job'.

Experience Required:

  • Previous role within a Quality / Compliance / Testing position within a manufacturing environment ideally with experience of laboratory based analytical testing.
  • Highly analytical and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Organised and able to communicate results effectively.
  • Awareness and knowledge of food safety policies.
