At ALPLA, we stand for high-quality plastic packaging throughout the world. Around 22,000 colleagues produce quality packaging for foodstuffs, cosmetics and industrial cleaning brands for many blue chip clients across 182 ALPLA sites in 46 countries.
We require a Quality Manager to work closely with the Operations Manager, this position leads the quality assurance department in the production area, with the goal to implement the quality standards defined by management in-line with regulatory standards and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead, motivate, and develop the Quality team to ensure compliance with customer requirements, ISO standards, and company expectations, embedding a strong quality and food safety culture across the site.
- Oversee all Quality Control activities, including inspections, testing, laboratory standards, calibration control, and equipment compliance.
- Manage customer complaints end-to-end, leading investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyse quality and operational performance data to identify trends, risks, and continuous improvement opportunities, including scrap and waste reduction.
- Conduct internal audits and support external and third-party audits, ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, HACCP, and site certifications.
- Maintain and continuously improve Food Safety, Environmental (ISO 14001), and Energy Management (ISO 50001) systems in collaboration with Operations and Engineering.
- Support site-wide training, environmental and energy objectives, and continuous improvement projects aligned with business needs.
- Proven experience as a Quality Manager within an FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and food safety standards.
- Certified Internal Auditor.
- FSSC certification and/or HACCP Level 3 (minimum).
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
- Advanced analytical and structured problem-solving capability (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D).
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
