We are looking for a proactive and organised Health & Safety Coordinator to join our Operations team on a 12-month maternity cover contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced H&S professional to help drive a positive safety culture across the site while supporting operational excellence.
The successful candidate will work closely with site management and operational teams to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and compliance are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities:- Present Health & Safety monitoring reports at Daily Review Meetings and support mitigation planning.
- Conduct static and dynamic risk assessments alongside functional teams.
- Carry out site monitoring activities including behavioural safety observations, GEMBA walks, hazard identification and unsafe act reporting.
- Support the Health & Safety forum by producing and analysing KPI data and trends.
- Assist managers with safety incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions, sharing lessons learned across the wider UK business.
- Act as the main site contact for managers, safety representatives and employees on HSE matters.
- Coordinate and arrange relevant safety training and eLearning activities.
- Liaise with the HSE, local authorities, customers and other interested parties where required.
- Support regional and corporate HSE improvement plans and KPI reporting.
- Host regional compliance audits and help implement corrective action plans.
- Deliver and support in-house safety training and eLearning initiatives across the site.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification or higher.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to analyse data and identify trends for continuous improvement.
- Experience supporting operational Health & Safety activities.
- HACCP Level 2 would be advantageous.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt is desirable.
- ILM Level 3 Managing People is desirable.
