We have a rare and exciting opening for a Trackside Garage Electrician within our Race Team. This role offers the unique opportunity to travel and be part of the full race calendar. If you have a passion for motorsport and a relentless drive to succeed, we want to hear from you!
The Role
Reporting to the Trackside Co‑ordinator you will have the responsibility for the full electrical specification and installation for pre‑event set up. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Installation and set‑up of all mains wiring within the offices, trucks, garage and pit lane.
- Providing a safe mains power source to all areas including all workstations, offices, trucks, garage and pit lane.
- Test and maintain all electrical mains cables, distribution boxes at the start and throughout the event ensuring they are safe and operational.
- Set‑up all charging areas and manage the charging of all battery‑operated equipment.
- Play an active role in electrical installation fault investigations, permanent rectifications and temporary solutions maintaining a good safe working environment.
- Produce electrical drawings providing a design specification and a complete list of parts used at the event.
- Continuously monitor and provide suggested improvements to electrical installations, standards and operational processes and procedures.
For this role, you will be working within our trackside support crew and your responsibilities will be numerous. Your primary set‑up and de‑rig role will be installation and maintenance of trackside electrical hardware. Secondary, but as important to this, there are varied roles from forklift truck driving, handling and unpacking of freight or trucks as well as general maintenance of the garage and a host of other responsibilities around Team requirements.
The Person
We are looking for an individual with experience within a similar position ideally holding a British Standard BS7671 qualification in Electrical wiring regulations (18th Edition Wiring Regs). You will have exceptional communication skills, be flexible, self‑motivated and a collaborative team player.
