Key Responsibilities
- Source and procure composite components and tooling to support production and development requirements.
- Manage supplier selection, validation and performance in collaboration with Quality, Finance and Engineering.
- Negotiate commercial terms to ensure best value for money while respecting agreed budgets.
- Own the end‑to‑end purchasing process, ensuring compliant, accurate and timely PO management.
- Monitor lead times and proactively chase deliveries to meet project deadlines.
- Support recovery actions where deliveries or projects are at risk.
- Provide accurate cost estimates to support budgeting and forecasting.
- Identify cost‑saving opportunities and challenge avoidable costs.
- Support continuous improvement of purchasing policies, processes and ways of working.
- Maintain clear, accurate reporting of purchasing activity.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong technical understanding of composite components and manufacturing processes (Formula 1 or high‑performance engineering experience desirable).
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Proven experience purchasing engineered or technical components.
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of procurement best practice (CIPS qualification desirable but not essential).
- Confident negotiator with a strong commercial mindset.
- Comfortable working with ERP systems (Microsoft AX preferred) and MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Highly organised, detail‑focused and able to manage multiple priorities.
