About Us
We are a high‑performance Formula One Team driven by innovation, precision, and a commitment to excellence. Within our Projects and Programme Management function, we play a critical role in coordinating the delivery of components and systems that directly contribute to race car performance. As a Project Manager Placement Student, you’ll gain hands‑on experience at the heart of how an F1 car is planned, built, and developed. This is a unique opportunity to support cross‑functional engineering, production, and programme activities that keep our car development running at pace throughout the season.
The Role
As a Project Manager Placement Student, you will support other Project Managers and the wider team in planning, coordinating, and monitoring projects. You will help ensure that key parts, assemblies, and updates are delivered on time by supporting project planning, stakeholder engagement, data tracking, and cross‑department communication. This role provides exposure to the full lifecycle of F1 component delivery—from design release through manufacturing and build—giving you a genuine understanding of how a Formula One Team operates.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Coordination: Support planning and production meetings, capturing status updates across technical and production functions. Assist in the creation and communication of project plans. Raise works orders and system tasks to ensure timely allocation of work across departments.
- Delivery & Performance Monitoring: Track progress of design, production, and build activities against deadlines. Escalate delivery risks or slippages to the Lead Project Manager. Collaborate with stakeholders to recover delays and mitigate risks.
- Project Administration & Reporting: Assist with maintaining accurate project data within relevant systems. Prepare status summaries, reports, and updates for project reviews. Support continuous improvement activities across the programme.
- Team & Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, programme management and other supporting functions. Promote a positive, collaborative, and inclusive working environment. Support the team’s focus on safety, environmental responsibility, and ED&I commitments.
Who We’re Looking For
- Currently studying a degree with a placement year (Project Management, Engineering, Business, Operations, or related).
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Effective communicator, confident liaising with a range of stakeholders.
- Able to problem‑solve, anticipate risks, and propose solutions.
- Comfortable working with data and digital tools.
- Keen attention to detail and ability to work at pace.
- Proactive, resilient, and eager to learn in a high‑performance environment.
- Must have the right to work in the UK (we cannot provide sponsorship).
- Must be available to attend onsite interviews in April.
