Overview

BWT Alpine F1 Team is looking for a PLM Application Engineer to support the PLM Support Team Leader in providing technical and functional support to 3DExperience Users. Working alongside the other PLM Application Engineers you will be primarily responsible for ensuring the business can work efficiently on 3DX with minimal disruption.

The Role

You will be supporting the users in the business on 3DX, for example:

  • Bug reproducing. Providing workarounds where possible and accurate information to the development team or Dassault to identify the root cause and provide a fix.
  • CAD Admin activities
  • Enforcing best PLM practices
  • CAD Support

Identifying areas of improvement in methods or working practices will be an integral part of the role, as will resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner. It’s expected that you will document known issues along with trouble shooting methods, and document training material on new and existing functionality found within 3DX.

You Will Also Be Responsible For

  • Testing bug fixes developed by Dassault and/or Alpine developers.
  • Regression testing for upgrade deployments.
  • Liaising with external reps (E.g. Dassault Systemes) to identify best practices and solutions.

The Person

We are looking for someone with experience in CAD/PLM software, ideally Catia V5/V6, who will bring a strong understanding of the pivotal role of PLM to the Team. You must have a strong work ethic, and be able to multi-task.

You’ll need to have excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail, as well as being resilient under pressure with a proactive approach, never giving up. The nature of the role is highly collaborative; bringing together many different groups into a cohesive project team, and a persistent drive for positive change will be needed. It will be important to build a culture that promotes managed risk taking within a safe environment.

Ideally, you will be degree educated and keen to develop strong understandings of 3DX PLM and design processes and tools:

  • 3DX data model, part identification, etc.
  • Part and assembly lifecycle.
  • 3D Modelling, DMU and Visualisation.
  • Simulation and CAE.
  • Release and change management.
  • BOM and configuration management.
  • P&O, licences, and roles.
