We have a rare and exciting opening for a No 2 Mechanic within our Race Team. This role offers the unique opportunity to travel and be part of all the Race Team calendar events. If you have a passion for motorsport and a relentless drive to succeed, we want to hear from you!
No 2 Mechanic – The Role
Reporting to the No 1 Mechanic, you will work closely with the No 1 Mechanic and the rest of the car crew to ensure the race car is prepared to the highest standards for each F1 event. This role is pivotal in maintaining the performance, reliability, and safety of the F1 car.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Assist the No 1 Mechanic in the preparation, maintenance, and repair of race cars.
- Perform routine and scheduled maintenance tasks, including engine, transmission, and suspension work.
- Conduct pre-race inspections and ensure all systems are functioning optimally.
- Play an active role in pit stops.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with the car and equipment.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and team standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, drivers, and other team members to optimise car performance.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools, equipment, and car parts are correctly stored and maintained.
- Travel with the team to all races, tests, and promotional events.
No 2 Mechanic – The Person
We are looking for an individual with proven experience as a mechanic or a similar position within a high-performance motorsport environment. The individual will need strong understanding of race car mechanics and engineering principles with the ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines. They will have exceptional problem-solving skills, communication skills, attention to detail and be flexible, self‑motivated and a collaborative team player.
