We are looking for a dedicated and technically skilled IT Race Engineer to support our race operations globally. This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of Formula One, ensuring our IT infrastructure performs flawlessly at every event.
The Role
As an IT Race Engineer, you will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of critical IT systems at race events, including Grand Prix weekends, test sessions, and simulator operations. You’ll act as a key escalation point for incident and problem management, ensuring high availability and performance of all trackside IT services.
Key Responsibilities Include

  • Supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure and bespoke applications during race events.
  • Providing 3rd line support for GP events, simulators, and the Race Operations room.
  • Managing and delivering IT projects to improve race environment technologies.
  • Liaising with vendors and partners for trackside services.
  • Ensuring compliance with ITIL processes including Change, Incident, and Asset Management.
  • Contributing to cyber security best practices and disaster recovery planning.
  • Supporting logistics for air and sea freight related to IT equipment.

Essential Skills And Experience

  • Several years in a similar IT infrastructure or support role.
  • Experience with data protection tools and virtual desktop infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage projects independently and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude and a strong sense of responsibility.

Thorough experience and understanding of common infrastructure technologies is required, including;

  • Hyperconverged Infrastructure (e.g. Nutanix)
  • Virtualisation (e.g. VMware vSphere)
  • Network Attached Storage (e.g. Dell Isilon)
  • LAN/WAN Networking (e.g. Dell or Cisco switching)
  • Wireless Networking (e.g. Meraki)
  • Network Firewalls (e.g. SonicWall)
  • Data Protection (e.g. RecoverPoint, Dell PowerProtect Data Manager and Data Domain)
  • Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Linux Operating Systems (e.g. RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Microsoft Windows Patching (e.g. SCCM/WSUS)
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (e.g. VMware Horizon)
