Our client, an established construction company, wishes to hire a Design Manager. You will be responsible for the technical management of building projects, coordinating design elements across multiple disciplines, ensuring the final design meets project requirements and is delivered on time and within budget.
Methodical in approach, capable of managing multidisciplinary teams, experienced in dealing with design teams and other third parties, and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A number of years of relevant experience in a contracting environment is required, as are problem-solving skills, the ability to work to deadlines, and an appreciation for health and safety, quality, programme, and commercial return.
- Team and stakeholder management: Lead and coordinate design consultants, project teams, and stakeholders, including the client, and lead design meetings.
- Design coordination: Ensure design elements from various disciplines are integrated and coordinated, managing interfaces between architectural, engineering, and site teams.
- Project scheduling and progress monitoring: Create and maintain schedules for design information requirements and monitor progress against project timelines.
- Submittal and approval process: Manage the entire technical submittal process, track its status, and ensure client sign-off.
- Compliance and quality control: Ensure the design complies with all regulatory requirements, building codes (e.g., BCAR), and project specifications.
- Risk and issue resolution: Identify and resolve design-related issues and potential risks early in the process.
WFH up to 3 days p/w. Salary c€70/75K negotiable with full package, extended annual leave, 10% pension etc.
