An established and highly respected UK construction contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Building Services Manager to join its London team. This is an opportunity to play a key role on prestigious, high–value construction projects, ensuring mechanical and electrical services are successfully designed, coordinated, delivered and commissioned to the highest possible standards. The Role

Working closely with project teams from pre–construction through to handover, you’ll take ownership of all building services activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the design, coordination and delivery of all M&E building services.
  • Working with pre–construction teams to ensure client requirements are fully understood and incorporated.
  • Coordinating consultants, subcontractors and specialist suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing the design approval process and ensuring information is issued in line with programme.
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, project specifications and relevant standards.
  • Supporting project planning to fully integrate building services into delivery programmes.
  • Monitoring quality standards throughout installation and commissioning.
  • Assisting commercial teams with variations and valuation of works where required.
  • Managing commissioning activities through to successful handover.
  • Attending and leading technical, design, commissioning and client meetings.

About You

We’re looking for someone who can confidently lead the building services function on major construction projects. You’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience as a Building Services Manager or Senior M&E Manager within a main contractor environment.
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical and Electrical building services.
  • Experience managing projects from design through to commissioning and handover.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple consultants and specialist subcontractors.
  • Experience working on large–scale construction projects across sectors such as healthcare, commercial, education, industrial or residential.

Qualifications

You will hold one or more of the following (or equivalent):

  • Degree in Building Services Engineering
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services
  • BTEC in Building Services Engineering
  • Mechanical or Electrical technical qualification
