Technical Buyer (Machining) – The Role
Responsibilities
The key responsibility of this position will be to procure and manage all machined components and tooling required by the company. This busy and varied role will also include the below responsibilities:
- To support in the creation and deployment of best practice procurement policy and process appropriate to the business
- To ensure we have adequate sources to maintain continuous supply of high quality products and services within budget and on time.
- To engage with all internal customers and stakeholders and manage the commercial position of all requirements to point of delivery.
- To conduct all purchasing activities in accordance with policy and taking account of the requirements and obligations of the business.
- To select and manage suppliers; to build, maintain and challenge supplier relations to meet business requirements of cost, quality, lead time ensuring value for money is paramount.
- To negotiate price and deliverables on other goods and services as directed by the Procurement Manager.
- To report accurately the status of all activity to the Procurement Manager or designated individual.
Technical Buyer (Machining) – The Person
We are looking for an individual with up-to-date knowledge and experience of best practice purchasing of engineered technical components (CIPS qualification preferred). We are looking for a strong negotiator with excellent inter-personal and communication skills, able to interact confidently with staff at all levels within the business.
