We have a fantastic opportunity for an exceptionally talented Senior Tyre Modelling Engineer to join our Simulation group within our Performance Group at Enstone. This position will play a crucial role in helping us push for podiums and race wins. Our team is dedicated to engineering excellence, pushing the boundaries of technology and optimising performance to achieve our goals. Responsibilities

  • To develop and parameterise a variety of tyre models including Thermal Mechanical Model to ensure they accurately reflect real world performance of tyres.
  • To understand and characterise all aspects of tyre performance through research and development of state-of-the-art characterisation techniques.
  • Development and maintenance of various tyre models used for vehicle performance simulations.
  • Vehicle / Simulation / Simulator data analysis to assess tyre model correlation and identify tyre model parameters.
  • Support tyre-specific Simulator testing, including test specification, real time support during testing, post-test data analysis and reporting.
  • Problem solving in areas of vehicle dynamics and performance as required by the team’s priorities.

The position is factory based.

The ideal candidate will ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent within relevant Science or Engineering discipline. It is essential to have a good base understanding of tyre thermo-mechanical models or FE models, as well as being proficient in MATLAB, Python, or C/C++/C#. It is necessary to possess a solid understanding of vehicle dynamics, including suspension kinematics and compliance.
