We have an exciting opening for a No. 2 Mechanic within our Race Support Team based in Enstone. This role offers the unique opportunity to travel and be part of all the RST calendar events. About The Role
Reporting to the Chief Mechanic, this role will work within a team of mechanics to support test and show car events throughout the whole RST calendar.
Key Accountabilities Are
- Assist the number one in the build, maintenance and service of the Race Support Team F1 cars whilst working to various build procedures and build manuals.
- Ensure the cars are built to the highest standards.
- Work to tight timelines while at RST events/tests/factory builds.
- Keep a record of all car part life numbers for each event (Working to supplied life build sheets).
- Be happy to attend/support the race team at various F1 tests and Grand Prix if required.
- Assist in building and maintaining the Race Support Team garage.
- Help develop the team with new equipment ideas.
- Assist with the maintenance and service of the race support team pit equipment.
- Work in and maintain a clean and tidy working environment whilst at Enstone and events.
Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate must possess the following skills and attributes:
- Proven experience as a mechanic in a high-performance motorsport environment.
- Be self-motivated, proactive and enthusiastic.
- Can demonstrate a methodical approach to work, with very good attention to detail.
- Can prioritise workloads to meet tight deadlines, with a flexible approach to both hours and job description.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Become a dependable team player who can interact and communicate with other departments, as well as work independently when required.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- PC literate including MS office.
- Previous experience trackside in Formula 1 is an advantage.
