The Role
As a Junior Mechanical Designer within the Aero Engineering Design Team, you will play a key role in delivering mechanical systems for our wind tunnel model, test facilities, and aero instrumentation. You will work closely with aerodynamicists, modelshop technicians, production teams, and full-scale mechanical designers to ensure seamless integration and performance of your designs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing mechanical components and systems to support aerodynamic testing.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver innovative and effective design solutions.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of design methodologies, processes, and procedures.
- Researching and integrating new technologies to enhance system performance.
- Taking ownership of your projects and ensuring they meet quality and performance standards.
This is a factory-based role with occasional travel and extended hours, including weekends, as required by project demands.
The Person
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented individual with a passion for engineering and motorsport. The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical or automotive/aerospace engineering.
- Experience in mechanical design, ideally within the automotive or aerospace sectors.
- Proficiency in CAD software (preferably CATIA).
- A creative and innovative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and pride in your work.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A flexible, self-motivated approach and the ability to perform under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
