As an IT Service Desk Student Placement, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting a wide range of users, technologies, and business-critical systems. This is a unique opportunity to develop your technical and customer service skills while contributing to the success of a Formula One team.

The Role

During your placement, you will provide first-line IT support to users across the business, helping to resolve technical issues and ensuring a high standard of customer service. Working alongside experienced IT professionals, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of technologies, systems, and support processes while developing practical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

You'll support the day-to-day operation of the Service Desk, assisting with incident management, service requests, device deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for hardware, software, and IT service-related incidents and requests
  • Log, categorise, prioritise, and track support tickets through to resolution
  • Troubleshoot issues relating to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and business applications
  • Escalate complex issues to specialist IT teams where required
  • Assist with the setup, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of end-user devices
  • Support user account administration, including onboarding, offboarding, and access management activities
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and IT procedures
  • Assist with hardware asset management and inventory control
  • Support meeting room technology and audiovisual equipment across the site
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance IT services and user satisfaction

Who We’re Looking For

  • Currently studying a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computing, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, and seeking an industry placement during your penultimate year of university
  • Strong interest in IT support, customer service, and technology
  • Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking, and computer hardware
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting technical issues
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
  • A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering excellent service
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies

You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role.
