At Alpine Formula One Team, we have an opportunity to join our well-established Composites department as a Deputy Cell Lead in our Laminating Team on the weekend day shift.
The Deputy Cell Lead – Laminating plays a dual role, combining hands-on composite manufacturing with supervisory and planning responsibilities. Working closely with the Cell Leader, this role ensures the smooth execution of daily production activities, supports team coordination, and contributes to planning, quality control, and continuous improvement. The Deputy Cell Lead acts as a key support figure within the cell, positively advocating to maintain high standards of output, safety, and team performance.
Key Accountabilities:
- Production & Technical (Approx. 50%)
- Perform hands-on composite manufacturing tasks, including laminating, trimming, and assembly, to support production output.
- Ensure components are produced to specification, quality standards, and deadlines.
- Interpret engineering drawings and work instructions to manufacture parts accurately.
- Maintain accurate work order bookings and traceability using D365 and other systems.
- Support the preparation and setup of tooling, materials, and fixtures for upcoming tasks.
- Assist the Cell Leader in coordinating daily workload and setting team targets.
- Set up workload for the next shift for others as required.
- Ensure all paperwork for production projects is readily available and the latest issue.
- Monitor progress against production schedules and escalate issues as needed.
- Support team members with technical queries and provide informal coaching.
- Create care notes to improve processes.
- Communicate effectively with the Shift Lead and Cell Leader to report progress and resolve issues.
- Participate in planning meetings and contribute to scheduling and resource allocation.
- Help maintain workshop organisation, equipment readiness, and compliance with H&S standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support a good handover between shifts.
- Understudy to the Cell lead, deputising for them in their absence as required.
