The Technical Department of Alpine Racing is seeking its future Vehicle Aerodynamic Performance Engineer Intern for a 6-month internship starting in the first half of 2026.
Within the Vehicle Aerodynamics division, your main responsibilities will include:
- Modeling and analyzing aerodynamic flows around various racing vehicles (excluding Formula 1);
- Getting hands-on experience with the steady-state 3D CFD simulation template;
- In close collaboration with the mechanical simulation team, developing a computational methodology enabling weak fluid-structure coupling (from simulation setup and workflow implementation to validation through test/calculation comparison);
- Improving post-processing and CFD analysis tools.
This internship will be conducted in collaboration with another intern working on finite element simulations of composite materials. You will be guided by a supervisor to help you get familiar with the tools required to carry out your tasks.
Profile
- You have strong knowledge in CFD and fluid mechanics applied to external aerodynamics.
- You have prior experience or training in macro programming (Java/C-C++/Python/Matlab).
- Experience with the StarCCM+ software is a plus.
- A solid understanding of aerodynamics applied to racing vehicles is also an asset.
- Familiarity with finite element simulations is appreciated.
- You are known for your strong team spirit, ability to meet tight deadlines, and capacity to work under pressure.
- You are highly motivated and eager to take on technical challenges in a high-level motorsport environment.
