We are currently looking to recruit a buyer to join our family run business based in Southend on Sea. Our company deal with properties that are currently going through insurance claims because they have either suffered escape of water, fire damage or impact damage. The successful candidate will be responsible controlling all materials for each of our current jobs. This includes bulk materials as well as clients material choices. The main aim is to be proactive rather than reactive. Delays in materials cost time and money, therefore it is essential for the successful candidate to be on top of the jobs to make sure everything is delivered on time. We have accounts with a few builders merchants, so getting the best price is important, although the best price is not always the number one key as the delivery times may affect this. You will liaise with clients directly for their personal choices, so telephone manner is key here. This job at times can be fast paced, so you must be willing to work well under pressure, as well as meeting tight deadlines. Our working hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm based at our Southend office. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a buyers role within construction as well as being organised well and good time keeping.
