Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team, covering Manchester and the wider North West area. The role involves the installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding of fire alarm and security systems across commercial and residential sites. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for a long-term role with competitive pay, consistent work, and opportunities to develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Fire Systems: Service, maintain, and fault-find fire alarm systems (conventional & addressable). Carry out emergency lighting inspections, testing, and remedial works. Ensure compliance with BS 5839 & BS 5266.
- Security Systems: Install, service, and maintain CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems. Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and system upgrades.
- General: Complete service reports and certification accurately. Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts. Manage workload independently. Ensure all works comply with industry standards and company procedures. Participate in on-call rota if required.
Requirements
- Essential: Proven experience with fire alarm systems and security systems. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of relevant British Standards (BS 5839 & BS 5266). Full UK driving licence. Ability to work independently. Good communication and customer service skills.
- Desirable: FIA units or equivalent qualifications. Experience with systems such as Gent, Notifier, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, Hikvision, Paxton, Texecom, Galaxy, etc. ECS / CSCS card. IPAF. Commercial and multi-site experience.
