We are seeking an experienced and reliable Static Fire Alarm Service Engineer to be based on-site in Kensington and Chelsea. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance, fault finding, and minor remedial works on fire detection and alarm systems, with a strong working knowledge of Kentec Taktis control panels. This is a static role at a high-profile site, requiring a professional approach, excellent technical ability, and strong client-facing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in accordance with BS 5839-1.
- Service, maintain, and fault-find on addressable and conventional fire alarm systems.
- Programme, commission, and modify Kentec Taktis fire alarm panels.
- Diagnose and rectify system faults efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct weekly/monthly testing as required by site compliance procedures.
- Complete all relevant documentation and service reports accurately.
- Liaise directly with the client, site management, and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
- Provide technical support and recommendations for system improvements.
- Carry out small works and system upgrades where required.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Service Engineer (minimum 3–5 years preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of Kentec Taktis systems (programming and fault diagnostics essential).
- Experience with addressable fire alarm systems.
- Good understanding of BS 5839-1 standards.
- ECS/CSCS card.
- FIA qualifications (desirable).
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and professional appearance.
- Ability to work independently within a static site environment.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in high-end residential, heritage, or commercial properties.
- Knowledge of other leading fire alarm manufacturers (e.g., Advanced, Morley, Gent).
- Basic understanding of cause and effect programming.
- IPAF/PASMA (beneficial but not essential).
