Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team, covering Manchester and the wider North West area. The role involves the installation, servicing, maintenance, and fault-finding of fire alarm and security systems across commercial and residential sites.

Key Responsibilities

Fire Systems

• Service, maintain, and fault‑find fire alarm systems (conventional & addressable)
• Carry out emergency lighting inspections, testing, and remedial works
• Ensure compliance with BS 5839 & BS 5266

Security Systems

• Install, service, and maintain CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and system upgrades

General

• Complete service reports and certification accurately
• Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts
• Manage workload independently
• Ensure all works comply with industry standards and company procedures
• Participate in on‑call rota if required

Requirements

Essential

• Proven experience with fire alarm systems and security systems
• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
• Knowledge of relevant British Standards (BS 5839 & BS 5266)
• Full UK driving licence
• Ability to work independently
• Good communication and customer service skills

Desirable

• FIA units or equivalent qualifications
• Experience with systems such as Gent, Notifier, Advanced, Kentec, Morley, Hikvision, Paxton, Texecom, Galaxy, etc.
• ECS / CSCS card
• IPAF
• Commercial and multi‑site experience
