Alphagary, an Orbia business, is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to be based at our Melton Mowbray Site in Leicestershire! Job Summary/ Purpose: The role of Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for the purchasing of products and services in support of business operations; obtaining quotes from vendors, negotiating price, terms, and lead time, creating purchase orders, tracking orders to ensure on time delivery to meet organisational requirements through development of business relationships and strategic partners. Main Responsibilities: Request comparative quotations for purchase requisitions to seek best pricing Raise purchase orders on SAP Send release requests to relevant person based on the DoA release strategy. Send purchase orders to suppliers Attach quotations and e-mail correspondence as attachments within the PO to aid audit traceability. Update the savings ledger with any money saved from like for like comparative quotations. Ensure new supplier forms are completed, undertake Ethixbase and complete relevant internal supplier forms for onboarding new vendors. Maintain boot ledger with any requests sent to ensure only issued every 12 months. Send safety boot deductions to Payroll for safety boots over £55. Minimum Qualifications: Academic Level: \’A\’ level standard or with equivalent level of practical experience Language(s) and level of proficiency: Conversant in English Knowledge/ Experience Required: 1-2 years\’ experience in an indirect procurement background desirable. Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes Ability to establish and develop relationships with internal and external sources Previous SAP experience ideal.
