45000 - 55000 per annumLondon, England Permanent Electrical Design EngineerOur client, a specialist organisation within the distribution and transmission sector, is seeking a Design Engineer - LV-33kV to support the design and delivery of multi-utility networks. The role will focus primarily on electricity distribution systems, with additional involvement in gas and water infrastructure, covering the full design lifecycle from feasibility and planning through to approvals and delivery.Key Responsibilities:Develop and review detailed LV and HV electrical network designs, including 11kV to 33kV systemsComplete feasibility studies, load assessments and network planning activitiesProduce accurate electrical schematics, layouts and design documentation using AutoCAD and industry-standard softwareIntegrate gas and water utilities into multi-utility network designs where requiredEnsure designs comply with G81 standards, UK utility regulations and relevant client requirementsManage design approvals with local authorities, Distribution Network Operators and Independent Distribution Network OperatorsWork collaboratively with clients, contractors and internal teams to achieve project objectivesProvide technical guidance, complete risk assessments and support innovative, sustainable and cost-effective design solutionsJob Requirements:Degree or HNC in Electrical Engineering or a related disciplineProven experience in LV and HV network design within an ICP, IDNO or DNO environmentStrong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, electrical design principles and UK utility regulationsProficiency in AutoCAD, Windebut or similar electrical design softwareUnderstanding of G81 standards and the design approval processExperience in multi-utility design, including gas and water systems, would be advantageousKnowledge of earthing software such as CDEGS would be beneficialStrong analytical, problem-solving, organisational and administrative skillsProfessional Skills:Professional, confident and calm when managing technical challengesCustomer-focused approach with clear and engaging communication skillsAbility to build effective relationships with clients, colleagues and external stakeholdersStrong attention to detail, with a focus on delivering accurate work on timeAbility to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative teamGood working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and OutlookCommitment to continuous learning, professional development and maintaining up-to-date technical knowledgeChartered Engineer status or progress towards CEng accreditation would be advantageousBenefits:Permanent opportunity within the electricity distribution and multi-utility sectorInvolvement in a varied portfolio of LV, HV and multi-utility network projectsOpportunities for ongoing training, learning and professional developmentRegular performance and development reviewsSupportive, inclusive and collaborative working environmentOpportunity to contribute to sustainable and innovative utility infrastructure solutionsIf you are an experienced Electrical Design Engineer with knowledge of LV and 33kV network design, this role offers an opportunity to contribute to technically important infrastructure projects across the distribution and transmission sector.
