Overview
Our clients in London and greater London are looking for Forensic Mental Health Support Workers to provide a quality service focusing on forensic mental health for our client’s Service Users at their London locations. The role involves supporting the Service Users with person‑centred support, enabling them to overcome personal challenges they face due to mental health. This will enable them to enjoy greater independence, and a more rewarding life.
Qualifications
- Minimum of an NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care, Psychology, Community Justice or professional equivalent
Shift Pattern
- Mon – Fri: 8:30am – 4:30pm, 1:00pm – 9:00pm or 8:30am – 9:00pm
- Sat & Sun: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities
- Position involves supporting individuals with a criminal background and/or diagnosed with mental health or personality disorders or challenging behaviours.
- Active listening and meaningful engagement with Service Users, enabling them to lead full, healthy, active lives.
- Empower, motivate Service Users to achieve personal goals and reintegrate into their community.
- Develop and create personalised support plans, risk assessments, and appropriate interventions to assist individuals in their recovery and reablement journey.
- Carry out welfare checks, safeguarding assessments, and support sessions to ensure safety and wellbeing.
- Collaborate with external agencies and stakeholders to deliver holistic support and foster positive partnerships.
- Encourage resident participation in activities and projects, empowering them to take control of their lives and make informed decisions.
- Ensure accommodation is safe, clean, and high property standards are maintained, reporting and managing repairs as required.
- Identify, respond to signs of deteriorating mental or physical health and provide crisis interventions where necessary.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure all information is documented timely, in accordance with organisational policies.
