Skid Steer Operator

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our team. The operator will be responsible for safely operating a skid steer loader to support construction, landscaping, demolition, or site preparation activities. The role requires strong attention to safety, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate skid steer loader to perform tasks such as earthmoving, trenching, grading, backfilling, and material handling.
• Load, unload, and transport materials safely around the job site.
• Maintain and inspect the skid steer equipment before, during, and after operation.
• Ensure safe operation and compliance with site safety rules and regulations.
• Assist with site clean-up, preparation, and other general labour duties when required.
• Report any mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, ground crew, and other operators to meet project deadlines.

Skills & Requirements

• Proven experience as a Skid Steer Operator (construction, civil, or landscaping background preferred).
• Knowledge of different attachments (bucket, auger, trencher, forks, sweeper, etc.) and their safe use.
• Ability to read and follow site plans, instructions, and safety procedures.
• Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions.
• Strong safety awareness and commitment to workplace health & safety.
• Relevant license/tickets required depending on region – e.g., WTR endorsement in New Zealand, RII ticket in Australia.
• NZ Residents/Citizens or open work visa/WHV candidates
