As we are an ever-growing business, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Control Room Operator to join Alpha Omega Securities. You will be required to work weekends as needed, and overtime is available if required. You must arrive at least 10 minutes before your start time to carry out a complete handover with the off-going Control Room Operator.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Control Room: You are responsible for all Control Room operational duties and the cleanliness of the Control Room and Entrance area. You must have access to: Safety Check Call Report, Rota and database, Vehicle Tracker Report. You will update Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and any other documents as requested.
  • Shift Handover: You are required to carry out a complete handover at the beginning and end of your shift with your relief or the oncoming Control Room Operator and Duty Manager, including: Verbally handing over electronic issues or incomplete duties. The outgoing Control Room Operator must brief the oncoming Controller on all relevant information relating to shift changes, unlocks, transport, etc.
  • White Boards: You must check the White Boards in the Control Room for any miscellaneous information or notes relevant to your tour of duty.
  • Control Room Daily Occurrence Report: You are required to maintain an electronic Daily Occurrence Log, recording all incidents and occurrences. Complete incident reports for incidents involving the Control Room Operator or external agencies.
  • General Administration: You are responsible for ensuring all completed documentation is filed appropriately in the Control Room daily. All control room documents must be signed or completed in pen only; do not use liquid paper or tip-ex to correct mistakes.
  • Non Response Check Calls: In the event of a failed routine check call: Continue attempts to contact the employee. If contact fails after 30 minutes, inform the Operations Support Officer/Duty Manager to attend the site. Contact the Duty Manager and advise them of the situation. Submit a report to the General Manager and HR if the non-contact is due to negligence or misconduct. If the guard is a Sub-Contractor, contact their Control Room and request necessary steps to contact their employee.
  • Rotas: You are responsible for covering any requested ad-hoc shifts. If a guard cannot be found, make alternative arrangements to ensure site coverage. Notify the Duty Manager after 15 minutes if you cannot cover a shift. Email the Rostering Manager of any changes to the Rota made during your duty.
  • Tick Sheet: Use the Tick Sheet to assist in locating a guard who may be available to work.
  • Absence & Sickness: Ensure that when an employee is sick, absent, or late, the details are sent by email to bookings, with confidential matters emailed only to the GM and HR department.
  • Key Holding: Conduct weekly checks of all Site and Response Keys held in the Control Room and Patrol Vehicles. Investigate any unauthorized use of keys and report to your Line Manager.
  • CCTV Monitoring: You are required to carry out CCTV Monitoring duties in accordance with company procedures.
  • Mobile Phones: Regularly check mobile patrol phones once signed in and out.
  • Alarm Activation: Handle all Alarm activations per the Key Holding and Alarm Response Procedure.
  • Company Vehicles: Ensure all company vehicles are refueled by drivers at the end of each shift and that vehicle keys are fobbed in/out correctly. Conduct daily checks on all vehicles when in use and report any additional damage.
  • Operations Plans: Complete Daily Operations Plans to ensure all services are carried out.
  • Emails: Action all operational emails during your working day, and forward emails to the Operations Manager during days off.
  • General Duties: You will be required to carry out additional duties as requested by Management, which may include: Sweeping front and side areas of the building, Emptying rubbish bins, Replenishing necessary Company Forms, Spreading rock salt or grit during bad weather, Filing documentation and updating folders. The above duties are not exhaustive and may change to meet operational needs.
