At Alpha Living, we're looking for a compassionate and proactive Housing Development Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to support older people to live independently while delivering a high-quality housing management service across our sheltered housing developments. About the Role As a Housing Development Manager, you will be responsible for delivering an excellent, resident-focused housing management service. Working closely with residents, families, partner agencies and colleagues, you'll ensure our developments remain safe, well-managed and vibrant places to live. You'll be the key point of contact for residents, providing advice and practical support while promoting independence and excellent customer service. What You'll Be Doing Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing day-to-day housing management across sheltered housing developments.
- Supporting residents with tenancy matters, rent accounts, Housing Benefit and Universal Credit claims.
- Welcoming new residents, carrying out tenancy sign-ups and helping them settle into their new home.
- Promoting developments, conducting viewings and working with referral agencies to maximise occupancy.
- Providing advice on housing options, welfare services and support available to residents.
- Building positive relationships with residents, relatives, advocates and external agencies.
- Identifying safeguarding concerns and making appropriate referrals where necessary.
- Maximising rental income and reducing void turnaround times.
- Carrying out health and safety inspections, fire alarm testing, door entry system checks and property inspections.
- Reporting and monitoring repairs and supervising contractors on site.
- Maintaining accurate records using the Civica CX Housing Management System.
- Developing and reviewing resident support plans.
- Line managing Housekeepers within the development.
- Providing cover for colleagues across other developments when required.
- Supporting residents during emergency situations until appropriate services arrive.
- Experience working within social housing.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good ICT skills with the ability to use housing management systems.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to advocate on behalf of residents.

- Experience within sheltered housing or independent living services.
- Housing qualification.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
