About the Role
As a Housing Development Manager, you will be responsible for delivering an excellent, resident-focused housing management service. Working closely with residents, families, partner agencies and colleagues, you'll ensure our developments remain safe, well-managed and vibrant places to live. You'll be the key point of contact for residents, providing advice and practical support while promoting independence and excellent customer service.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing day-to-day housing management across sheltered housing developments.
- Supporting residents with tenancy matters, rent accounts, Housing Benefit and Universal Credit claims.
- Welcoming new residents, carrying out tenancy sign-ups and helping them settle into their new home.
- Promoting developments, conducting viewings and working with referral agencies to maximise occupancy.
- Providing advice on housing options, welfare services and support available to residents.
- Building positive relationships with residents, relatives, advocates and external agencies.
- Identifying safeguarding concerns and making appropriate referrals where necessary.
- Maximising rental income and reducing void turnaround times.
- Carrying out health and safety inspections, fire alarm testing, door entry system checks and property inspections.
- Reporting and monitoring repairs and supervising contractors on site.
- Maintaining accurate records using the Civica CX Housing Management System.
- Developing and reviewing resident support plans.
- Line managing Housekeepers within the development.
- Providing cover for colleagues across other developments when required.
- Supporting residents during emergency situations until appropriate services arrive.

- Essential Experience working within social housing.

- Good ICT skills with the ability to use housing management systems.

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to advocate on behalf of residents.
