Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager Location: Lancashire Permanent | Senior Management Opportunity | Equity Potential Negotiable Salary based on experience The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to join an established and growing specialist contractor based in Rawtenstall. The business specialises in partition walling, plastering and internal fit-out, delivering projects across a range of sectors. As the company continues to grow, they are looking to appoint a commercially strong individual who can take a senior role within the business and play a key part in its continued development. This is much more than a traditional Quantity Surveying position. The successful candidate will become an important member of the senior management team, with a genuine opportunity to progress towards Commercial Director / Director level, together with the potential to acquire equity in the business as that progression develops. The Role Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account, while also contributing to the wider commercial and strategic development of the business. Responsibilities will include: * Commercial management of multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion * Reviewing and preparing tenders, quotations and cost plans * Subcontract procurement and management * Cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting * Valuations, applications for payment and final accounts * Managing variations, change and contractual matters * Monitoring project profitability and cash flow * Commercial negotiation with clients, subcontractors and suppliers * Identifying commercial risks and opportunities * Supporting the development and implementation of commercial processes * Providing commercial leadership and guidance to the wider team * Working with the senior management team on business growth and strategy About You We are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career. Experience within partitioning, drylining, plastering, ceilings, interiors or specialist fit-out would be highly advantageous, although candidates from a broader construction background with strong commercial experience will also be considered. You should have: * Strong Quantity Surveying / commercial management experience * Excellent understanding of construction costs and commercial processes * Experience managing projects and subcontract packages * Strong negotiation and contractual skills * Commercial awareness with a focus on profitability * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills * The ambition to progress into a senior leadership position * A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to business development and growth Career Progression This is a genuine long-term career opportunity for someone who wants more than simply managing projects and commercial accounts.
