BIM & Digital Estimating Engineer Location: Hull | Permanent | Full Time | Competitive Salary + Benefits An exciting opportunity has arisen for a BIM & Digital Estimating Engineer to join an established specialist UK contractor delivering HVAC, ventilation, fabrication and modular DfMA solutions across technically demanding construction projects. The company is continuing to develop its digital engineering capability and is looking for a strong Revit/BIM professional who can help bridge the gap between BIM, estimating, fabrication and manufacture. This is a varied role offering the opportunity to influence processes rather than simply produce drawings. The Role Working across BIM, design, digital engineering and estimating, your responsibilities will include: • Working with and interrogating Revit and BIM models • Reviewing models for tender and project information • Extracting quantities and schedules • Supporting model-based quantity take-offs and estimating • Producing manufacturing drawings in Revit • Tagging and dimensioning drawings • Exporting PDF and DWG layouts • Developing better links between BIM, estimating and fabrication • Identifying opportunities to improve and automate processes • Supporting the wider development of BIM and digital engineering capability The Candidate The key requirement is strong Autodesk Revit/BIM experience, supported by a good understanding of construction drawings and technical information. You should also have: • Confidence working with quantities, data and schedules • Good Excel skills • A practical, analytical and problem-solving approach • An interest in estimating and understanding how construction projects are priced Experience of ductwork, steelwork, fabrication, MEP, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud or estimating software would be beneficial but is not essential. The company is open to candidates from a range of backgrounds, including BIM, Revit, digital engineering, design or estimating. More important is strong BIM capability, technical understanding and the desire to develop new and more efficient ways of working.
