Our client is looking for an experienced and driven Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead a national commercial team and oversee the successful delivery of multiple infrastructure contracts across the UK. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a dispersed team of Quantity Surveyors, driving best practice and consistency nationwide.
  • Oversee the full commercial lifecycle of multiple contracts, ensuring robust cost control, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Provide strategic commercial advice and support to project managers and directors.
  • Administer NEC contracts in line with client and company requirements.
  • Lead on valuations, change control, early warnings, and compensation events.
  • Support bid and tender processes with accurate commercial and contractual input.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal delivery teams.
  • Drive commercial efficiency, value for money, and continuous improvement across the function.
  • Contribute to wider business improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

About You

  • Proven experience managing multiple contracts under NEC forms of contract.
  • Background in civil engineering, highways, or infrastructure frameworks.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills, with experience managing dispersed commercial teams.
  • Excellent financial acumen, analytical capability, and commercial awareness.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK.
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Professional membership such as MRICS (or working towards) highly desirable.
