Job Description
- Overall control and management of buying department
- Improve and develop the buying department strategy, processes and protocols.
- Develop, maintain and improve relationships with key suppliers.
- Create relationships with new suppliers.
- Champion use Local strategy, working with the ESG manager to explore sustainable solutions for material supply and waste / unused material disposal and local social value opportunities.
- Explore general sustainable alternatives to materials, fuel and equipment
- Manage disputes over damage / losses, and critique material supply invoices against standard of service (standing time vs supplier delays)
- Day to day buying function includes live jobs & tenders supporting the buyer as and when required.
- Monitor and feedback supplier performance: input into NCR CARs.
- Report back to estimators regional cost fluctuations, supplier specific cost increases, and regional blockers (other large projects in the area which could impact on supply and costs to our project).
- Working with site teams over real-time challenges (supplier/supply issues) & opportunities (new suppliers in the area, innovative solutions).
- Assist estimators with regional lodging costs.
- Manage supplier approvals and approved supplier database
- Establish, maintain and review framework agreements including rebate agreements
