Role Description The Rental Operations and Yard Assistant is a full-time, on-site position based in Accrington. This role involves supporting daily rental operations, including preparing vehicles for hire, checking vehicles in and out, and ensuring that the yard and parking areas are organized and safe. The assistant will help coordinate vehicle movements, complete basic inspections, record mileage and fuel levels, and report any damage or maintenance needs. Day-to-day tasks include interacting with customers in a courteous manner, assisting with basic paperwork or system entries, and working closely with the operations team to ensure vehicles are ready on time. The role also requires adherence to health and safety procedures, occasional cleaning of vehicles, and contributing to a professional, orderly working environment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Operations and Operations Management skills to support day-to-day rental processes and vehicle coordination.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to check vehicle condition, identify issues, and accurately record relevant data.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to interact with customers and team members in a professional, respectful manner.
- Ability to work on-site in Accrington, manage physical tasks in the yard, and follow health and safety guidelines.
- Attention to detail, reliability, and good time management in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic IT skills for using rental systems or recording information; prior experience in vehicle rental or logistics is beneficial but not required.
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are highly advantageous.
