The Role
We’re looking for a motivated Business Analyst to join our Change team. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role combining business analysis with practical testing responsibilities to ensure changes are delivered safely into production. You’ll own analysis activities end to end, carry out process analysis, manage workstreams from initial idea through to go‑live, and support hands‑on testing to ensure high‑quality delivery. The role also requires close attention to UK regulatory expectations, ideally within a UK retail banking environment.
What You’ll Do
- Gather, clarify, and prioritise business requirements with stakeholders to support clear and achievable delivery
- Lead discovery workshops and deep‑dive sessions to understand processes, issues, and desired outcomes
- Define functional and non‑functional requirements, including regulatory, security, and control considerations
- Challenge assumptions, resolve ambiguity, and support practical decision‑making
- Analyse current‑state processes and design target‑state solutions, contributing to Target Operating Models
- Collaborate closely with SMEs, technology teams, and vendors to ensure end‑to‑end traceability from requirements through delivery
- Support testing and UAT by defining scenarios, supporting defect triage, and contributing to delivery sign‑off
- Identify opportunities for process and ways‑of‑working improvements and recommend pragmatic changes
- Support business readiness activities including communications, training, post‑implementation support, and benefits tracking
- Communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels to build strong relationships and support change
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience delivering change within Financial Services (banking preferred), with a strong understanding of operating in a regulated environment
- Familiar with FCA and PRA expectations, including delivering work that is audit‑ready day to day
- Strong experience in UK retail banking products, particularly current accounts and deposits; exposure to debit cards and home lending is an advantage
- Excellent core Business Analysis skills, including running workshops, asking the right questions, and producing clear, usable documentation
- Comfortable producing standard BA artefacts such as BRDs/user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability, As‑Is / To‑Be process maps, impact assessments, and training materials
- Solid understanding of end‑to‑end delivery across waterfall and/or agile environments, from initiation through build, test, release, and early life support
- Confident working with technology teams across locations and time zones, staying engaged through build to resolve issues and clarify requirements
- Willing and able to be hands‑on with testing, including defining the approach, writing and executing SIT/UAT scripts, managing defects, and supporting business sign‑off
- Familiar with testing discipline in regulated environments, including test plans, evidence, traceability, and quality gates
- Comfortable using delivery and analysis tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Visio/Lucidchart, Figma, Excel, and basic SQL where helpful
- Naturally analytical, pragmatic, and well organised, with a strong eye for quality and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Clear communicator and confident facilitator, able to influence outcomes, run effective workshops, and take ownership through to delivery
Qualifications
Degree in IT, Finance, Business or related field, or proven experience. Relevant BA certifications desirable. UK Financial Services experience strongly preferred.
